What is pointystick.com all about?
Well I decided i needed to finish at least one project i have created. I have created lots and lots of projects but never ended up
finishing them due to last of interest or data. I created this site because everyone was asking me "do you have any new funnies"?
So i thought i may as well put up all the funnies / cool stuff and put it up on a webpage for everyone.
Since then i now recieve over 1.5 million hits per month, most content is submitted to me via users like you.
Users are encouraged to send new stuff in, so if you have something upload it. Unfortunatly i still havent finished this project , i always seem
to get distracted and never complete anything heh ! :) Hopefully within 5 years i will have the site finished and the way i want it :)
What's on pointystick.com?
Content is submitted by users uploaded from the internet and occasionally i will upload some files myself if i find time which is lacking lately. I try to make all files on pointystick humour based
as i want everyone to have fun and have a laugh on my site. I try to keep illegal and seriously offensive files (such as gore) off my site. But due to the sheer amount
of content i recieve this is not a guarantee, if you find any such files on this website to be offensive or illegal please use the contact form to report it and it will be removed.
Why would you want the name pointy stick?
Most of my favorite webpages have the weirdest names such as "Steak and cheese" & "Milk and cookies". I decided for humour based sites that weird names are often the best.
Since my site would not compete with these massive sites i decided well "its better than a poke in the eye with a pointy stick" and the name was born :).
My second choice was screaminghedgehog.com but i thought it was a little to long to type.
Why does your site design look basic?
This is simple one to answer. My hosting plan only allows a certain bandwidth per month of transfers. I decided that i rather use the bandwidth to bring you the funnies rather than wasting half of it on slow loading visually pleasing site.
My site's pages are less than 3k in size so the site loads fast and does not much much difference to my monthly transfer limit. If you want to see something special i'll link a couple of my other sites another time.
How do i rate the pic or story i'm viewing
All you have to do is click on the current rating and follow the instructions (eg: if you see Rating: 6.54 Votes: 5). You would click the 6.54 . Then you can rate the article you are viewing
Can i link to you?
Sure just download this button and link it to www.pointystick.com do not hot link the image put it on your own server.
I only get so much bandwidth a month if everyone starts hot linking the buttons , i wont be able to keep bringing you the funnies.
Do you own these images?
No i don't, most photos on the web do not have a copyright. I try not to put copyrighted stuff
my site but sometimes you just don't know. Some images are tagged from where the image was uploaded. These tags are just saying this photo passed through this site.
Which bring it to me. I also tag these images to say this image passed through my site and maybe one day i will recieve a tagged image of mine back which would be cool.
If you find anything that is copyrighted and you OWN these files you can ask me to take them down and i will. I am not rich i can't afford law suits :).
I am just trying to bring funny stuff to people to enjoy and i do not make any money off this site.
